England chased down South Africa's total of 229 to win a thrilling contest by two wickets in the Group 1 clash of the #WT20 2016 at the Wankhede Stadium. Batting first, the Proteas posted a massive score of 229/4 in 20 overs, by the half-centuries from Hashim Amla, Jean-Paul Duminy and Quinton de Kock. In reply, England opener Jason Roy was on fire and played a cameo of 43 off 16 which was followed by Root's 83 off 44 and England can chased total as they posted 230/8 in 19.4 overs. Chasing 230, England openers Roy and Alex Hales (17 off 7) got England off to a good start scoring 44 runs in just two overs of Dale Styen and Rabada. But Kyle Abbott got the rid of Hales in the third over. Roy playing shots striking five fours and three sixes before he got out in the fifth over at 71/2. Ben Stokes promoted up the batting order to one down for power hitting he did not able to do and got out on 15, Eoin Morgan was also strangling to strike the balls and returned back to the pavilion in space of four overs and England in under pressure at 111/4 in tenth over. But that was the Root's day, Root did not allow the required run-rate to climb high over then 11 rr as he kept on finding boundaries at regular intervals and take the team past 150-run mark. Jos Buttler (21) giving good support to Root and make 75-run partnership for fifth wicket. After Buttler wicket  Root playing sensibly to take team past 200-run.In the last over England only need 1 run but great match at the end also. Earlier, Proteas openers Amla (58 off 31) and De Kock (52 off 24) got the kick off start, scoring 83 runs in the powerplay. But when they were looking good to take the game away from the opposition, off-spinner Moean Ali struck in the eighth over to send him packing. Both opener added 96 runs for the first wicket. A.B. de Villiers failed to make a big impact and he was departed to 16 and Proteas were at 114/2 in ninth over. But Proteas manage to set a massive target of 229 lose of 4 wickets, Amla and Faf du Plessis were then dismissed in space of four overs In the end, Duminy (54) and David Miller (28) helped team post a good total.
