After the 5 wicket haul from Mitchel Starc in first Inning of Sri Lanka now its turn for Sri Lankan bowlers and Rangana Herath became just the second Sri Lankan to take a Test hat-trick against Australia. On second day of the match Australia resume with 54/2 and on second day of the match Sri Lankan spinners bowl spun and Australians had no clue against this spinners. Australia loose their 8 wickets in just 52 runs and with in 20 overs, Australia all out on 106 and it was Australia's second lowest total against Sri Lanka in an inning. Herath finished with 4 for 35 and Dilruwan Perera with 4 for 29. Herath's hat-trick:
  • Adam Voges drive to words to the cover area
  • Peter Nevill was got out as a lbw
  • Mitchell Starc moved forward but ball hit pad first, Starc was given not out but Angelo Mathews asked for a review.
Only one other Sri Lankan had ever taken a Test hat-trick: Nuwan Zoysa, who achieved the feat against Zimbabwe in Harare in 1999-2000. Herath's hat-trick put Australia at 80 for 7 and in serious danger and even they fell that they cant even cross 100 runs mark. In second Inning, Sri Lankan Batsmen also fallen cheaply and we may find another collapse on day 3 and Australia definitely bounce back after this.
