West Indies middle order batsmen saved second test match after losing 4 wickets in just 15 overs at end of the day 4. Blackwood and Chase start of the first session well of the 5th sunny day after having rain on day 3 and day 4, West Indies fans hopeful for the rain on 5th day also to save the match. But their middle order batsmen thinks other way and they batted for full day and specially Roston Chase (who scored his maiden Test century). They started by lossing of just one wicket in first session and scored almost 150 runs before lunch and day 5 match started 30 minute early before the time because of wasted time in Rain. After critised batting before Day 5, West Indies batsmen showed that attack is the best form of defence. They never try to save their wickets they just attack on Indian bowlers. West Indian captain Jaosn Holder also played good hand for saving the test match he scored 64 runs while chase scored 137 runs. Another wicket keeper batsmen also capitalize the opportunity and he was most consistent in all of the West Indian batsmen he scored 50 in first test match also and he scored 74 in this inning for saving the match. Speaking after the end of the match, Indian captain Virat Kohli applauded the effort of the West Indian batsmen, mentioning that it was a special effort from the Holder-led team to have drawn the match from the situation they found themselves in. “It was testing day. That's what Test cricket is all about. Pity we lost most of yesterday (due to rain). That's no excuse, credit to the way West Indies played today. When you lose a Test and behind in the second, it takes something special to save the match,” Kohli said. “Our bowlers tried their best, we created some chances, but they didn't go to hand. The first four days the wicket was very active. The hardness of the ball was a factor. On these pitches when the ball is not hard enough, play goes dead for 25-30 overs. Pretty pleased with the effort the boys put in. After tea as well. Everybody put in a last push,” Kohli said. Roston Chase create record for taking a 5 wicket and score a century in same match for West Indies. Before it was record for DJ Bravo to took 5 wickets and score more then 50 run in a match before 11 years in 2001 against Australia.
